How to use a Nokia N70 as a bluetooth modem, with an Apple PowerBook running Mac OS X

Update, 5 April 2006: Mac OS X 10.4.6 includes iSync 2.2, which supports the N70 out of the box, which means that you can happily remove the iSync Agent app, which solves the clash, so you only need to follow the easy three-step process just below.

A sane way to use your N70 with iSync

Update, 5 April 2006: Mac OS X 10.4.6 includes iSync 2.2, which supports the N70 out of the box, so you can ignore this if you've got it. You can happily remove the iSync Agent app, which also solves the N70-as-a-modem clash as a bonus!

iSync 2.2 makes me happy

With iSync 2.2, included with the Mac OS X 10.4.6 update, Apple have finally cracked a problem which has bugged me for ages: reliable sync with Nokia phones. Previously, most Nokia sync has been using a special iSync Agent Series 60 app (which only worked with some series 60 phones, and which usually lagged behind new phone models). This resulted in funny hacks like my own N70 sync plugin.
