If Christianity ever had a good name, it's surely spent most of the last 2000 years besmirching it. Here, then, are some glimmers of light for those of us who think that a faith in Jesus Christ can still be a vital, wide-eyed thing. If you want to know what interesting things are happening in Christianity then at least some of them will be here. It's a very anglocentric selection - this is what I know about.
Greenbelt are not only the longest running Christian Arts Festival in the UK, they're also one of the longest running festivals of any kind here... They always have a broad spectrum of speakers and some really good music. The variety and openness of the programme is wonderful, and the atmosphere is pretty much the friendliest of any I've been to.
Ship of Fools, 'The magazine of Christian unrest', is a fabulously satirical look at Christianity and is well worth a look. If nothing else you can get an update on the chances of the rapture happening this week...
Sojourners are an American community based in Washington DC engaged in radical politics and lobbying. Their magazine, also called Sojourners, is another very good read.
Third Way magazine, so called long before el Blairino nobbled the term, is a fantastic magazine. If you're a UK christian interested in the world around you it's pretty much indispensable. It deals with politics, culture, spirituality: it's the business.
Places to get information, inspiration, other stuff beginning with 'I'...
The Alternative worship FAQ is a comprehensive central resource for practitioners of alternative worship in the UK. Full of useful stuff about almost all aspects of the alternative worship movement, also contains a vastly more comprehensive list of links to services than I have here.

One Small Barking Dog are based in Birmingham and provide multimedia resources for worship services and other Christian groups. Grace use their visuals, and I'm sure lots more services use them either directly or through the videos they released with Grace.
The scriptorium is an initiative to make a wide range of resources for worship available to practitioners - almost a working library (as the name implies). Not online properly, as yet, but you're able to sign up online now.
The web pages of services and groups involved with what's usually termed the 'Alternative worship' movement.
Epicentre, another London based group, are involved with lots of things, self-described as a Christian arts network, one of the things they have done is to run art exhibitions in unusual public spaces - bars, for example.
Grace are a London-based alternative worship service, who have a monthly service and a monthly Eucharist. Their services are thought-provoking and involving.
Holy Joes, the sort-of church-in-a-pub that meets in central London once a week to talk about God. Their worship service, Sacred Space, is always fantastic.
Visions are a York based alternative worship service. I've never managed to get to one of their home services, but when I've seen them at Greenbelt they've been great.
