CSS: Separating content from presentation, second edition

This is something I should have done a while ago...

I'm very pleased to indulge in a little self-promotion and wave the flag for the second edition of my book: Cascading Style Sheets: Separating Content from Presentation, Second Edition. After the whole Wrox implosion last year, the good folks at Apress! bought the rights to a lot of the Wrox stuff (Glasshaus and Friends of ED included), and to our great pleasure they decided to publish an actual second edition and not just a reprint.

It took us a while, but we buffed, polished and turned out a new edition that I'm really pleased with. I think that the whole book is better. Speaking for myself, my chapter on Typography has been heavily revised, and it's a lot more useful now. Added to that I wrote a new chapter on Tables in CSS. Plus there's a whole new section at the back, replacing the original projects chapter with new material from Dave Shea, John Simons, Michael Switzer, Dan Rubin, Michael Pick, and Cornelia Lange.

It was a long process, from the panic of Wrox's bankcruptcy to this new book hitting the shelves (we're Friends of ED now), so some thanks are in order. First off my co-authors, Owen, Eric, and Steve, (This was Owen's baby to start with: thanks for letting me come along). Next, all the fine people at Apress who made the second edition happen, with a big thank you to Bruce Lawson and Chris Mills who crossed the divide. Lastly (and not at all leastly) to all the Glasshaus people who made the book happen in the first place.

Finally, if you wanted to, you could always buy the book (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk). I thank you.

Not forgetting:
