Using a Nokia N70 as a modem over bluetooth with a PowerBook

I had no problems with using my old 7610 as a modem, using Ross Barkman's excellent modem scripts. Yesterday I tried to set up my nice new N70 as a bluetooth modem. I grabbed Ross' Nokia 3G scripts and spoke to Vodafone, who sent me the relevant phone config and then... nothing.

Has anyone managed to get a PowerBook G4 running 10.4.4 talking to a Vodafone N70 as a modem?
