My iPod sometimes annoys me

Note: When I started writing this I abandoned the list format I was going to use and it rapidly turned into a morass, so I thought it should probably become several sensible posts instead. This first post has been returned to its conceived state: a simple list.

• The remote control is just awful:
  • You can't tell which way up it is
  • It has no information display
  • The controls are really fiddly
• There's no option-arrow equivalent for skipping a whole album, either on the iPod itself, or on that blasted remote.
• When I insert it into its dock and it starts syncing it stops playing.
• When I insert it into its dock and it starts syncing it forgets what it was playing.
• When I insert it into its dock and it starts syncing it forgets what it has played recently, which is pretty crucial for random-play shuffle-by-album no-playlists-for-me users (like me).
• There's no option-arrow equivalent for skipping a whole album. I know I've already mentioned it, but it really ticks me off.
